Who is behind Cindermoor, an independent UK site of online game reviews with no adverts, no trackers and no paid placements.

Cindermoor is an independent review site about online games, written for players in the UK. Every world on our compass has been played properly by our team, with friends and with strangers, and reviewed in full: its platforms, the account it needs, what it costs once you are in and a sensible place to end a session.
WP 02Why a compass
Online games are places you travel to and come back from. The compass on our home page treats them that way: each world has its bearing, a short report you can read before you set off and a rest point for the way back.
WP 03Who writes the reports
A small group of long-time players who between them cover online role-playing games, team games, competitive play, co-op, party games and accessibility settings. A game is reported only after weeks of play, and team games are always played in teams.
WP 04How the site is paid for
It carries no adverts, affiliate links, sponsored reviews or products. We host no games, run no accounts and take no payments, so no company has a reason to ask us for a better rating or a better bearing.
WP 05Conflicts of interest
If a reviewer has a personal or professional link to a game, someone else reports on it and the report says so. We do not accept gifts, trips or in-game items in exchange for coverage.
WP 06The pictures
Every cover is an original illustration made for this site in the visual style of its game, from painterly fantasy to low-poly nostalgia. None of it is official artwork, a screenshot or a real person.
WP 07Why we write about stopping
Online games are designed to keep you coming back: events, seasons, friends who are always on. We think a review site should say where a session ends well and what a game costs over a year, so every report does, and the hearth sits right beside the reviews.

British spelling, no pop-ups, no autoplaying video and no tracking. Prices, account rules and age ratings stay with the official sites, which keep them current.
